After work today, I dropped by my dad’s garage to mask off and prime the J2000’s short block.
It cleaned up pretty nice with degreaser wipes, since it wasn’t super greasy to begin with. I covered up what I thought needed covering, threw about four bolts in to hold the pan, and sprayed it down.
VHT 2000 degree primer sprays great and sat down really nicely. Not a single run I could see on the whole thing, so that made me happy. It’s got a great flat surface, the paint is gonna stick to this stuff like crazy.
I kinda wish I had VHT paint for the block instead of Duplicolor, but looking at a comparison test of VHT’s Pontiac Blue vs Duplicolor’s, Duplicolor’s is darker which I like.
Anyway, a couple days for it to cure nice and hard, and Sunday it turns blue.
